Literature and Values: the Festival Honors Don Roberto Faccenda with a Special Award

An evening of strong participation and deep emotional connection marked the presentation of “A(r)marsi con cinque ciottoli” by Don Roberto Faccenda, held at the Yachting Club Salerno as part of the cultural program of the 79th edition of the Salerno International Film Festival.

The event, which drew a significant audience and an exceptionally engaged public, confirmed the book’s growing success, with rising readership numbers and increasing interest from the community.

The presentation was enriched by heartfelt and profound reflections: Don Roberto guided attendees on a symbolic journey through the “five pebbles,” metaphors for the values and inner tools we all need to arm – or love – ourselves with in everyday life. It was an intense and lively exchange, prompting numerous questions and contributions from the audience – evidence of both spiritual and intellectual participation.

At the end of the event, our Artistic Director, Paola De Cesare, presented a Special Award to Don Roberto Faccenda in the section “A Book for Cinema, Cinema for a Book.”
Award motivation: For the extraordinary sensitivity shown in guiding young people along a spiritual path—at times challenging, yet always to be lived with joy and faith. For being an authentic example of a man capable of touching hearts through the strength of simple words.

The morning concluded with a book signing, offering a moment of direct exchange between the author and attendees, further strengthening an atmosphere of closeness and shared experience.

With this event, the Salerno International Film Festival reaffirms its commitment to promoting cultural experiences that place art, storytelling, and human growth at the center.
